Resting Museum is an artist duo of Priyanka D’Souza and Shreyasi Pathak, in India, using rest, queerness and disability as methodology in their art practice and curatorial projects to intervene in art and design history discourse and archives. They are interested in the aesthetics of the incomplete and the performativity of the missing body in disability theory and how they can be used in institutional and infrastructural critique. They look at experiences of isolation of disabled body-minds and the formation of certain ‘publics’ physically and virtually through practices of sitting, resting, and participating together. They travel and think through, with, and around crip and queer time.

Priyanka D’Souza (she/her) and her cold, sick and fabulous alter ego, Pinka PopsicKle, is an ‘artistorian’ from Mumbai, and holds an BVA in Painting from M.S. University, Baroda, and an MA in Arts and Aesthetics from JNU, Delhi. In her academic and artistic practice, she works with crip time and protest in ecological re-imaginings, Mughal miniatures, early modern Natural History, and the concept of the ‘ajai’b’ (wondrous/strange), particularly in imaginings of borderlands of nation-empires, and as applied to anomalous/disabled bodies. She is a poet fellow at Zoeglossia ’22, and has been an artist-in-residence at Delfina Foundation, London ’21, and Dara Shikoh Fellow ’16.

Shreyasi Pathak (they/he) are interested in and often find themselves in flea markets, junkyards, wreckages, and such places and non places, zoning out, collecting, hoarding and photographing the places/spaces. Being present in several archives, in different roles and currently in that of an accidental archivist, they are intrigued by these places of cognitariat-ship, custodianship and memory that compels us to find and figure out ways of engaging with the archive and with those outside of it. They are interested in (design) histories of the Cold War, Modernism and its counter-cultures and how it played in shaping the visual and material culture. Aspects of trans*-queerness and disability are essential to their practice.
